Compositing Layers in Photoshop
Figure 10.2 Photoshop Week 10 (25/11/24).
-
All the layers need to be arrange and rename accordingly so that it
will be organise and easy to be animated in After Effects.
-
All the layer elements need to be organised and synchronised to the
external software platforms such as Photoshop & Illustrator.
-
After Effects files does not embed its media, it links to it.

Project 2B - Photo Imaging Poster Design : Quotes of the day
Progress
.png)
Figure 10.8 Saturation
Example #2 Week 10
(28/11/24).
I aimed to illustrate the quote "Bloom where you're planted" using the concept of the four seasons, arranging the elements in the order of spring, summer, autumn, and winter from top to bottom. I applied Illustrator techniques to create 3D effects for the words "Bloom," "where You," and "Planted," with additional techniques intertwining the words "where you" and "Planted." Furthermore, I used Illustrator's clipping mask technique on the letter "l" in "Planted" to add texture with a tree branch image, adjusting the saturation of the images and words to create contrast in the poster.

Composition
In the graphic layer, I attempted to
sketch the elements needed for
illustrating the four seasons. For
example, spring is represented by
grass, flowers, leaves, and
butterflies; summer is represented by
a beach umbrella, sand bucket, and
sand shovel; autumn is represented by
maple leaves; and winter is
represented by hot chocolate with
marshmallows.
In the photos layer, I kept the
texture of the stone on the ground
and used my silhoutte image as the
background. In addition, I have
emphasised the quote and created
contrast by using the Shirakawa-go
image as the background for the word
"Bloom." In order to highlight the
idea of growth in four seasons, I
also included pictures of myself, my
leg, clouds, snowflakes, and a
winter plant called a snow crocus.
Final Poster
Figure 10.12 Illustrated Typographic Poster Week 10 (28/11/24).
This poster is created with the quote: "Bloom where you are planted." – St. Francis de Sales. The original quote by Saint Francis de Sales is: "Truly, charity has no limit; for the love of God has been poured into our hearts by His Spirit dwelling in each one of us, calling us to a life of devotion and inviting us to bloom in the garden where He has planted, and directing us to radiate the beauty and spread the fragrance of His Providence." (Defender, P., 2023).
In this poster design, I have used the concept of the four seasons to convey growth and resilience. The word "bloom" is designed with contrasting colours and blooms emerging from the back, symbolising growth and transformation across different environments. The phrase "where you" is styled like building blocks to represent the process of personal development and self-construction. Meanwhile, the melting effect on the word "planted" illustrates the transitions between seasons, emphasising adaptability and continuous growth. I included a foot stepping on the word to represent personal growth, perseverance, and the steps we take to move forward in life. At the centre of the design, an image of myself holding a flower symbolises self-discovery and the act of blooming. The background transitions from top to bottom, representing the four seasons and reinforcing the idea that growth is possible at any time and in any situation.
In conclusion, this design communicates the importance of resilience, adaptability, and the beauty of personal growth, encouraging viewers to embrace their own journeys and bloom wherever life places them.
Task: Animate Video
Figure 10.14 Transform Week 10
(25/11/24).
-
I modified the image's anchor point,
position, scale, rotation and opacity of the
image with After Effects.
-
To present a continuous animation movie, I
tried to add a stop in the midst of the
video and use the same transform at the
start and end.
