The 7 Principles of Poster Design

1. Emphasis: Draw the audience in and grab their attention.
2. Balance and alignment: Space and place different element in the design with organising and connecting.
3. Contrast: Make the element stand out and create clarity.
4. Repetition: Create brand identity
5. Proportion: Create cohesive look with similar proportion of size and weight in design.
6. Movement: Give narrative arc, a logical start and end point.
7. White space: Help fine tune the balance and emphasis in the design.

I watch the tutorial video provided by Mr Fauzi and follow steps by steps to recolour the image using Photoshop. I learn how to use the brush tool and layers to recolour the image.

Then, I recoloured the portrait on my won using Photoshop.

Reflections

Experiences

During week 6, Mr Fauzi taught us about poster design and the fundamental principles of design. These principles are the foundation of what makes good design.

Observations

I've observed that removing parts around small or thin objects isn't easy. For example, it was hard to remove parts around the hair. 

Findings

Thus, we could press the "smart guide" button to remove the parts that hard to remove.
