Reflections

Experience

I had a lot of fun acting as Evelyn in our remake of Everything Everywhere All At Once. It was exciting to be both in front of the camera and involved behind the scenes. The shooting process taught me a lot about teamwork, especially when handling lighting and sound setups. Editing the trailer was also very enjoyable, especially adding music, sound effects, and adjusting colours to bring everything together.

Observation

I noticed how different lighting setups can drastically change the emotion and focus of a shot. Sound recording also requires precision—sometimes background noise or mic placement can affect clarity. During editing, balancing audio levels and matching cuts with music timing made a big difference in the trailer’s impact. Using visuals and sound in sync made the Lalin edit feel more polished and immersive.

Findings

While working on Exercise 2, I discovered many important aspects of film production, such as how lighting affects the mood of a scene and how sound is captured using a mic. I also learned how to apply colour correction and adjust brightness to make the footage look more cinematic. During editing, I explored how sound effects and background music can enhance storytelling. Through the Lalin exercise, I understood how layering graphics and sound can help build rhythm and mood in a video.
