REFLECTIONS

Completing my dissertation has been a tough yet gratifying experience. At the start of the process, I was overwhelmed by the scale of the project and unsure how to manage my time properly. However, as I moved through the research and building stages, I acquired confidence in my abilities to organise, organise, and work on my own. This project challenged me to take more responsibility for my own learning and decision-making, which was a huge step forward in my academic progress.

One of the biggest challenges I faced was staying motivated and consistent, especially during the writing stage. There were times when I felt confused about my direction or stuck with my ideas. When this happened, feedback from my tutor was very helpful, as it allowed me to see my work from a different perspective and make improvements. I also learned that reflection and revision are important parts of producing stronger work.

During the research stage, I learned how important it is to read and understand academic sources carefully. At first, I found it difficult to identify relevant information and connect different ideas together. Through writing the literature review, I gained a better understanding of my topic and was able to refine my focus. This process helped me realise that research is not only about collecting information, but also about analysing and questioning it. My academic writing also improved as I practised explaining ideas more clearly and logically.

Overall, completing this dissertation has helped me grow both academically and personally. I developed better research, writing, and time management skills, and I learned how to handle a long-term project more effectively. This experience has given me more confidence in my abilities and will be very useful for my future studies and professional work.
