LECTURES (WEEKLY)

WEEK 1

Levels of Mobile User Experience

In the first week, our tutor, Ms. Nurul Aiman asked us to take a UI design we created in a previous class and use generative AI to obtain a professional-grade critique. My previous task was the redesign of a Frozen Yogurt app. Therefore, I decided to focus on the home screen and collect feedback from AI. The AI tool I used for this exercise was ChatGPT.

WEEK 2

Levels of Mobile User Experience

In Week 2, we studied Mobile UX Teardown. We were asked to choose an app that we use frequently around campus and define one specific, realistic task we want to accomplish within the app today. I have chosen Koppiku as the app to explore.

Quick Start Guide FlutterFlow

We also referred to the FlutterFlow quickstart guide (https://docs.flutterflow.io/quickstart/). Ms. Nurul Aiman also briefed us about FlutterFlow, and we explored the platform together by following the steps provided in the guide.

WEEK 3

Context Consideration for Mobile UI

In week 3, we learnt about Transitioning UI to Backend Logic by transition our static prototypes from Application Design 1 into a dynamic, data-ready environment. We isolated a core user flow, map its database architecture, define its interactions, and import your design system into FlutterFlow.

Figma Import

We also learn how to import design themes from Figma into FlutterFlow:

WEEK 4

Firebase Integration (Login)

Ms. Nurul Aiman taught us how to create the login and log out page in flutterflow.

ASSESSMENT 1

APPLICATION DESIGN 01
APP DESIGN SELF-EVALUATION AND REFLECTION

FINAL APP DESIGN SELF-EVALUATION AND REFLECTION

Below is my Assessment 1 App Design Self-Evaluation and Reflection for the redesign of the Llaollao Frozen Yogurt Ordering App. It includes:

  • Introduction of the previous task
  • Overall design problems and solutions
  • Each screen design problems and solutions
  • Actions taken in future projects
  • Reflection and comparison

FEEDBACKS

Week 1: In Week 1, Ms. Nurul Aiman briefed us on what we need to write and how to communicate with AI to receive feedback.

Week 2: Ms. Nurul Aiman stated that there is no word limitation for this task.

Week 3: I showed Ms. Nurul Aiman my previous task in semester 3 and she gave me feedback, including adding a cancel order button, changing delivery addresses, and changing the phone number.

Week 4: In Week 4, Ms. Nurul Aiman said we can do whatever we want, there is no format.

REFLECTIONS

In this task, I carried out an App Design Self-Evaluation and Reflection for my previous project, the Redesigned Llaollao Ordering App. I used AI to evaluate my current design and recommend areas for improvement. The goal of this reflection was to better understand my work's strengths and faults and analyse it from a professional UI/UX perspective.

Through the AI feedback, I identified some problems with design that I had not noticed throughout my previous project. These included unsuitable visual hierarchy, a cluttered layout, an unclear navigation flow, and a lack of clear priority between important tasks like pickup, delivery, and product browsing. While my tutor had already provided remarks throughout the assignment, the AI analysis provided a more detailed critique based on UI/UX concepts including spacing, readability, and cognitive load. It helped me appreciate how these errors could have a greater impact on the user experience than I thought.

After analysing both my personal understanding and the AI comments, I agree with the majority of the suggestions made. During the design process, I prioritised making the interface visually appealing over utility and clarity. Looking back, I recognise the value of solid structure, clear hierarchy, and user-friendly navigation. In future projects, I plan to include AI feedback into my design process, along with user testing, to increase clarity, accessibility, and overall user experience from the start.
